Sector Information

Sector information: Biomedical

The Biomedical sector of the HLSP is supporting the development of four courses based at North West institutions. The project aims to achieve a step change in employer engagement with higher level skills in the Biomedical sector. Projects involve a number of different partnership models and are developing a range of courses from Foundation Degrees to Postgraduate qualifications and flexible CPD.

In addition, NWUA launched a new brochure entitled bioKnowledgeNW which will enable industry to gain a greater understanding of the North West universities capability in the Biomedical sector. The brochure was launched after a plenary session presentation made by Prof Trevor McMillan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, Lancaster University and Chair of NWUA’s Research SPN at the Genesis conference on 9th December 2010 at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London.
