Membership
- The Regional Economy Group is chaired by a member of the NWUA Board, Professor John Brooks, Vice Chancellor, Manchester Metropolitan University.
- Membership consists of one senior colleague nominated by each member institution with the facility for one named alternate.
- The Executive Director and the NWUA officer with the lead for regional engagement will be in attendance.
Remit
To facilitate collective engagement with, and influence on, the regional economy and NWDA, enabling a two-way strategic dialogue between the North West Universities and the NWDA.
The main activities of the Regional Economy Group are:
- To provide a conduit for a single HE strategic dialogue on economic issues of regional significance.
- To engage with NWDA and other partners involved in Future North West.
- To engage with key national and regional partners to facilitate HE sector representation and input into wider economic issues and developments within the regional context.
- To identify and explore the potential for a collective NWUA response to emerging economic issues for recommendation to the NWUA Management Board; this may include the delegation of actions to NWUA Task & Finish Groups.
