Shared Interest: Collaboration between museums, visual arts
organisations and universities in England’s North West.
Shared Interest is the result of a collaborative project between North
West Universities Association, Renaissance North West and Arts Council
England, North West. The project aims to encourage greater
collaboration between museums, visual arts organisations and
universities in the region. The report demonstrates how these sectors
can achieve more by working together. It is based on research
commissioned from Abigail Gilmore and Jane Dawson. The research set out
to identify compelling regional examples of collaboration and the key
features of successful partnerships.

Longitudinal Impact Study of the NW HLSP - Phase One Evaluation Report (2009)
In April 2009 NWUA appointed the KSA Partnership to undertake a longitudinal impact study on the NW Higher Level Skills Partnership. The study looks at the impact of the NW HLSP on providers, partners, employers and employees (learners) and will be ongoing until the end of the project in March 2011. Phase one is now complete and focuses on the impact on HEIs / FECs and partners.

The economic impact and potential of higher education institutions in the North
West A report to the Northwest Development Agency [Executive Summary] (April
2009)
A report by SQW to NWDA, as part of the evidence base for the Regional Strategy
RS2010 The Economic Impact and Potential of HEIs in the North West shows that
overall, the HEIs in the North West and their graduates contributed c. 3.5
billion in Gross Value Added (GVA) to the regional economy in 2007.

Environmental capabilities in England's northwest: An opportunity for
universities to underpin post recessional growth of the UK's environmental
technology sector? (2009)
At the request of NWDA, the HE sector is collecting information on its
strengths in relation to two key sectors for the future of the region:
Environmental Technologies and Digital and Creative Industries. The first of
these reports, prepared by Lancaster University, has been completed and can be
